EMERGENCIES

The following signs indicate a mental health emergency:

  • Attempting or showing signs of a possible suicide attempt (talking about death-related plans, making farewell-like conversations with significant others, intensifying feelings of hopelessness and helplessness, etc.);
  • Rapid development or periodic episodes of high-risk behaviors or self-destructive actions that differ significantly from the individual's usual behavior, indicating a substantial loss of self-control;
  • Complete withdrawal from communication and interaction, abruptly ending all social interactions, refusing or significantly reducing eating, speaking, or movement;
  • Deviations in perceived reality from shared interpersonal reality (particularly hearing voices making negative comments about the person, threatening them, or giving commands).

The above signs absolutely require psychiatric evaluation and often necessitate psychiatric intervention.

In cases requiring urgent mental health intervention, the Ministry of Health's 112 emergency line should be called. An ambulance will be dispatched, and the individual will be referred to the nearest healthcare facility with a psychiatrist on duty.
